We were delighted to convene the first gathering of 2026 as Propeller Club Port of Istanbul, welcoming our members and distinguished guests at the Grand Hyatt Istanbul. With the participation of nearly 80 senior professionals, this special meeting created a
refined platform for strategic exchange at a time when global balances are rapidly being reshaped. The active engagement of our participants, reflected in thoughtful questions and substantive dialogue, transformed the gathering into a genuinely dynamic forum.
From an economic perspective, Dr. Artunç Kocabalkan underlined that ongoing debates surrounding the U.S. Dollar’s role as the world’s reserve currency will continue to shape market behavior. He noted that until a new reference value clearly emerges, global
markets are likely to remain volatile. Emphasizing that tokenisation represents a structural transformation rather than a passing trend, he added that, in the Turkish context, maintaining liquidity and allocating to precious metals remains a prudent strategy
amid prevailing uncertainty.
Addressing the geopolitical landscape, Dr. Ahu Özyurt pointed to developments in the Iranian arena as one of the most critical variables in the period ahead. She observed that the United States is expected to move away from conventional military operations,
favoring more targeted interventions through autonomous systems and electronic warfare capabilities. From Türkiye’s perspective, she highlighted the possibility of a normalization process ahead of the anticipated elections in Israel this October, alongside
the potential for renewed capital flows.
