At our October Luncheon, Propeller Club – Port of Istanbul had the privilege of hosting K. Erman Karaca, Vice Chair of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of CloudOne AI, at Grand Hyatt Istanbul.
Following an engaging networking reception, Erman Karaca delivered a thought-provoking presentation entitled: “From Disruption to Decision: What Digital Transformation Taught Us, What AI Changes, and What We Should Do Next.”
Drawing on more than fifteen years of digital transformation experience, she explored how artificial intelligence is transforming not only the way we work but also the nature of decision-making itself.
The discussion highlighted the enduring value of human judgment, the strategic importance of proprietary data and institutional knowledge, and the profound economic shifts being driven by AI across industries and geographies.
Reflecting on Türkiye’s opportunities in this rapidly evolving landscape, Erman Karaca posed a question that resonated throughout the room: Will AI replace human capabilities, or will it empower people to achieve more than ever before?
The presentation concluded with a lively exchange of ideas during the Q&A session, where members and guests explored the practical, strategic, and ethical implications of AI adoption.
One message, however, stood above all others: “Accountability cannot be delegated to a model.” Technology will continue to evolve. Decision-making will evolve with it. But accountability remains human.
